Proximity Readers

Cansec's CanProx Proximity Reader is fully compatible with all HID access cards and provides three revolutionary new features: Variable Audio Level (VAL), Dual Audio Tone (DAT), and Advanced Reader Monitoring (ARM).

The VAL (Variable Audio Level) feature allows the installer to field program the volume of the beeper. The beeper can be set low or off for office environments or very loud for plant floor or other noisy areas. The DAT (Dual Audio Tone) feature generates a distinct secondary tone (separate from VAL) on Door Held Open and Forced Entry alarm conditions. When enabled, the reader will beep according to the volume set by the VAL feature on regular card reads. On alarm conditions, the reader will emit a distinct, full volume tone until the condition is cleared.

The ARM (Advanced Reader Monitoring) option transmits an ongoing "heartbeat" signal to the Cansec controller to confirm that the reader is alive and well. CanProx is the first reader of its kind to offer a supervision option.
